Love Under the Stars Tickets Now Available!

Tickets for our annual Valentine's Day event "Love Under the Stars" are now available to purchase on our website.
Throughout the ages, countless poets and composers have been inspired by love and its relationship to the cosmos.

Valentines couples can enjoy an evening of "Love Under the Stars" from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8  and 9, at the Center for Earth & Space Science Education at Tyler Junior College.

This year's event will feature an all-new planetarium show, created by the Science Center's new director, Dr. Beau Hartweg. "The immersive planetarium experience really draws you in and creates a wonderful environment for couples looking to explore the awe-inspiring nature of our Universe and the romance that can be found in the night sky," Hartweg said.

Admission is $85 per couple (ages 21 and up), and includes: heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages; brand new full-dome planetarium show; an outdoor, telescopic viewing (weather permitting); a couples' gift basket; and a commemorative photo.

Advance tickets can be purchased online or at the science center ticket counter. Seating is limited and tickets sell fast so be sure to buy yours while they are still available.
See you soon.

Sincerely,
Beau Hartweg, Ph.D

Official Newsletter - January 2019

January 2019

Greetings and Happy 2019!

It's hard to believe we're already into the new year. We had a wonderful holiday season, with the return of planetarium favorites: Mystery of the Christmas Star, and Season of Light. Last month we also had our special Laser Holidays show, which was a big hit!

With the new year, there are plenty of new things happening at the Planetarium and
Science Center, and January promises to be a big month with events happening every week.

Beginning January 8th, we will premiere our new show "National Geographic Presents: Robots." This show, designed for audiences of all ages, showcases the latest developments-the successes and failures-of robotics around the world. We are also introducing a new live presentation show to our planetarium lineup. "Journey Through Space- LIVE" takes you on an exciting trip through our solar system, to the edges of our galaxy and beyond. Since this is an interactive show, you get to decide what you will visit, and no two shows will be exactly the same.

That's not all! We will have a "Family Saturday" on January 12, a total lunar eclipse watch party on January 20, and a Science Day Open House on January 26 with performances from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science!

Be sure to read through the newsletter to find out more details on all these exciting events. There are so many reasons to visit us this month, and we hope to see you soon!
