Rabbi Neal Katz to Present Next Science Lecture

Rabbi Neal Katz, from Congregation Beth El of Tyler, will be guest speaker for Tyler Junior College's monthly Public Science Lecture Series, set 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Center for Earth & Space Science Education at TJC.
The program will be held at TJC science center, located at 1411 E. Lake St., on the TJC main campus.
In his discussion, "Making the World Holier Through Science," Rabbi Katz will share his view on how we can use our religious impulse to support science and technology.
As a faculty member of a science and technology summer camp, a science enthusiast, and a former Discovery Science Place board member, Rabbi Katz believes that religious and scientific worldviews are never mutually exclusive. In fact, he said, both are necessary for a full appreciation of human potential.
Admission is free, and lecture topics are suitable for all ages. Seating is limited, and doors open 30 minutes before the lecture. Advance tickets are available during regular hours of operation at the TJC science center or by going to www.tjc.edu/cesse. Parking is free.
The Public Science Lecture Series began in 2004 and is part of the science and education outreach of the TJC science center. Lectures, shows, and demonstrations are presented throughout the year by academic experts and scholars who speak about timely and interesting topics related to science, education and public outreach.
